Graphic Resign

I just found an old blog that I forgot I even ever had. I put it together as the writing side for one of my senior humanities courses. We read literature, I tried to connect it to The Simpsons. All good stuff. link

I was just moderating comments on this thing for the first time in a while. They were all spam. Pretty sure no one really reads this. I also post messages fairly rarely, so its not like there is much reason to come here and comment. Anyway, I’m starting to drift…

The title of this post was left as a comment 3 times on a post about a school project. I mentioned Apple’s telephone, which I think is the reason I had 400+ spam comments. Granted, that is not really a lot. link

I didn’t do this because I am really opposed to Obama. It just seemed like something that needed to be done. Shepherd Ferry is responsible for both poster, and they are similar enough.

That being said, I am pretty much of the mind set of “loving my country, but fearing my government.” So, with Obama’s cult like followers and how much the media worships him… who knows maybe this wil take on its own meaning in the next few years… anyway, just wanted to throw this online, make of it what you will.

 I think I’ve had my mac book pro for about a year, so this is as good a time as any to do a year in review.  Here is every photo I have taken of myself this year from the built in web cam. Its really not a lot considering all things.

So, apparently the e-edition of my Hunting Guide went live recently. There is a link to it on the Vail Daily home page and probably all the other papers too.

Out of all the inserts I’ve done so far I am most proud of this one. It looks like a complete piece and has some good spreads. There were a few issues with it, but yea, overall I am proud of it.  link

Lame I know but thats as good as it gets.

So, after doing the Green Guide for Summit along with some bitchin’ green fillers today; an ad rep called me “quite the environmentalist” which was followed by my customary discussion with Greta about the evils of recycling, among other things.

She ended up saying I had “cloudy” morals and I responded by saying my morals weren’t cloudy, they were merely “questionable.”

When it comes to green I simply feel that the recycle part is pushed way too hard and too universally accepted as the answer, leaving reduce and reuse as the black sheep. In the world we live in though, reduce and reuse are the key factors to making things better. While recycling gives people a sense of “doing good” without really doing anything, reducing consumption and reusing what we already have is harder and makes a real impact. Maybe I don’t know what I am talking about and I did just have some drinks.. but I think I’m right, and since I am the only one reading this I am allowed to agree with myself.

So, just looking at the Westword’s bog and saw this.

I used to know this guy a little. I mean not enough that I would make the jump to saying he was my friend, but when I’d run into him around town we’d make a couple minutes of small talk.

I saw him do some stand up at the midnight movies a few times last year. The first time I saw him he did an entire set of abortion jokes. Funny stuff. He was also the Bingo caller Sunday nights at Sputnik, which I went to most of last spring. So cool to see him doing so well for himself.

On a similar note, I miss Denver.

Well its been a while since I’ve posted. I’ve been busy with work and with other things but I have some time right now.

I found a place to live in Eagle. Its nice; a 5 br house with two roommate, another moving in soon and 2 dogs. My bedroom is nearly the size of my studio in Denver. Everyone seems cool. One of the dogs seems really reluctant towards new people but he almost let me pet him the other day, so thats nice.

The job is good so far. The boss bought us sandwiches from smiling moose tonight which was good. I entered a few of my ads into a montly contest at work, hoping to place somewhere in that, I think maybe one or two of my ads have a chance. I also got my second paycheck tonight, which was for a lot more than the first one, so that is nice too.

I’m still living from boxes right now, which I hope to remedy soon. I need a few furniture pieces to try and pull everything together a little more. I guess its Hallowe’en later today, I might try and do something if there is any chance of getting off work early, which there isn’t. hmm, thats about it I think. Until next time.

I would have posted this stuff earlier, but I haven’t really had a good connection other than at work since I’ve been here. There is a wireless connection called franco that I was able to get onto shortly the other day and I am currently connected to a netgear thingie with about a bar of service every so often.

I was offered a job (and accepted) on Saturday, Sep. 22nd in the graphics department at Colorado Mountain News Media (CMNM).

So, I moved out of my Denver apartment on Sunday morning (Sep. 30th) and began my trip to Gypsum, CO. About half way there I got a call from my boss telling me that I’d be staying in a condo in Vail with another new hire. I got to the hotel and after a brief struggle with the garage door code, followed by a struggle with the elevator code I was in my temporary home. I met my roommate (Daniel), had a beer, watched some tv, and then went to buy some food for the week ahead. I think I went to bed early, fell asleep late, and woke up at an hour I haven’t known in the a.m. in several years.

Work was good, I mostly just did training for the first part of the week and then got to go on my own for the last two days. Thought I had a place to stay in a huge $500,000.00 with 3 guys I work with, it fell through. Now I am looking for a place to live again, hopefully all will work out soon. Daniel found an apartment and I don’t know how much longer the company will put me up by myself in this huge apartment/condo thinger.

What else can I say? Um, I’ve been to a few bars a few times, met some neat people and some pretty girls (inclusion in one group doesn’t mean exclusion from the other) and had some decent food. I’ve also been bored, so well if you read this and know me or are in the area say something and then come hang out with me.

Well I have a job now. I am going to be moving, it will be cool and interesting and different. I will give more information once I start, sometime the week after next.
